Lena Bhagat, Senior Capital Markets Sales Associate

As a student at the University of Michigan, double majoring in economics and philosophy, Lena initially thought about a career in law but instead found herself drawn to the intersection of policy and investing. After graduation, she found the perfect opportunity at Capstone to meld her interest in market behavior with the critical thinking skills developed by her philosophy major. Lena started as an Associate in Sales and distinguished herself through her ability to deftly initiate conversations with subject-matter experts in the capital markets industry and steadily build a book of clients.

Now a Senior Associate, Lena manages relationships with a growing list of clients and potential prospects. She appreciates the scope and depth of her responsibilities and the ability to work both independently and with trusting and supportive Sales and Management teams. She also enjoys that every day is different at Capstone. Lena could find herself at a Policy Day with clients in New York City one day, attending Zoom conference calls on Wednesday, and rounding out the week with lunch or other events with industry experts and thought leaders.

Culture is the biggest value add at Capstone for Lena. There is boundless opportunity to grow, suggest ideas, and collaborate with team members around the globe. She also feels the warmth and kindness she felt in Michigan in her new home in DC. Lena is now focusing on her new goal to expand both her book of clients, as well as her book collection.
