Murphy joined Capstone in 2025 and is a Vice President of Corporate Development. He collaborates with corporations across the energy sector, providing market insights and advising on policy and regulatory trends to leverage potential investment opportunities.
Before joining Capstone, Murphy began his career in investment banking at JP Morgan advising energy companies in the execution of multi-billion-dollar debt capital market transactions across bonds, loans, and M&A financings. After which he joined client NextEra Energy to support the CFO on financing strategy, deal execution, and portfolio hedging.
Murphy holds a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and is a 4-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is a native of Alexandria, Virginia and currently resides in Washington, DC.
