Peter Wright

Senior Adviser

Peter Wright is an experienced environmental attorney with a distinguished career spanning public service, corporate practice, and private law firms. He served as the Assistant Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Land and Emergency Management during the first Trump Administration. In this role, Peter led career staff in accelerating the pace and accountability of cleanups under the Superfund, RCRA, and Underground Storage Tank (UST) programs, established the Office of Mountains, Deserts and Plains, and championed the EPA’s ambitious recycling goal of achieving a 50% national recycling rate by 2030. 

Prior to his EPA tenure, Peter was an in-house environmental attorney at The Dow Chemical Company and Monsanto Company. At these global corporations, he successfully navigated complex and contentious environmental issues, managed extensive environmental compliance portfolios, and supported numerous international transactions involving the acquisition and divestiture of manufacturing sites and businesses. 

Most recently, Peter served as Vice President of Compliance and External Affairs for Crysalis Biosciences, Inc., a biotechnology startup. His experience also includes practicing environmental law with private firms located in Indiana, Missouri, and Washington, DC. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and Washington, DC.
