Matt Pound is a political strategist and senior adviser with over a decade of experience driving organisational reform, electoral campaigns, economic policy and strategic operations at the highest levels of the UK Labour politics. Most recently, Matt served as the Political Director to the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, following Labour’s historic election victory, setting and operationalising political and economic strategy in a challenging context.
Prior to his role in the Treasury, Matt was pivotal in reshaping the modern Labour Party. Under Keir Starmer, he was Political Director for Elections, spearheading the candidate vetting and selection process for the 2024 general election alongside other key reforms to build a ‘voter facing’ party and election strategy. Recognised across Westminster as a sharp strategist and talented organiser, Matt continues to be an influential voice in contemporary British politics.
