Sharon Burke is a Senior Advisor on Energy, Climate, and Climate Resiliency. Most recently, Sharon served as a climate advisor on the Biden transition team. Previously, she acted as the Director for New America, a nonpartisan think tank where she initiated a range of research initiatives. Prior to joining New America, Burke served at the Department of Defense as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy Plans and Programs; she championed rapid fielding of energy efficient technologies and practices and equipment that lightened the fuel supply line, as well as promoted incorporating energy security considerations into key business processes. Burke previously acted as a Senior Fellow and Vice President at the Center for a New American Security, where she worked at the intersection of national security and natural resources.
