Jack Dearing


Jack joined Capstone in 2021 as an associate on the Energy team, focusing on renewables, power, and utilities. Before Capstone, he worked in energy finance and analysis, where he primarily traded in and studied the ERCOT long-term and day-ahead electricity congestion markets. He has also worked in a research capacity focused on trade at Duke University, his alma mater, and at a local environmental organization focused on chemicals, energy, and agricultural issues. Jack graduated from Duke with a B.S. in Economics, a B.A in Environmental Sciences and Policy, and researched the effects of EU carbon credits on electricity markets as part of a dual thesis between both majors. Born in Memphis, TN and raised near Baltimore, MD, he currently lives in Washington, DC.
