Cory Palmer


Cory joined Capstone in 2018 and is an analyst on the energy team. He concentrates on policy issues relating to oil and gas, utilities, metals and mining, infrastructure, and other state-level issues. Prior to joining Capstone, Cory was an energy and natural resources policy research analyst at FBR covering oil and gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), oilfield services, energy infrastructure, biofuels, energy tax credits, fuel economy, and metals and mining issues, as well as national and global macroeconomic trends in oil and gas. During that time, Cory gained valuable experience advising clients on policy trends in the energy sector and performing due diligence on energy- and infrastructure-related investment banking deals. Previously, Cory worked for several years in the U.S. Senate as a Legislative Assistant specializing in energy, environmental, and infrastructure policy, with extensive work on Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Army Corp of Engineer, surface transportation, and mining issues. He graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics and lives in Washington, D.C.
