Michael Michaud

Senior Associate

Michael joined Capstone in 2023 as a Senior Associate on the Financial Services team. Previously, he served as a Director at public affairs consulting firm Hamilton Place Strategies (now Penta), where he advised clients in the manufacturing, nonprofit, and financial services industries and helped them develop targeted engagement strategies to enhance their influence in the Washington ecosystem. Before that, Michael served as an Assistant Vice President of Washington Research at boutique investment bank Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW). At KBW, Michael researched the impact of the post-Dodd-Frank Act on the financial services sector with a specific focus on the banking industry. Additionally, he did political and electoral horizon scanning to advise clients and colleagues about potential political and regulatory risks.

Immediately before joining Capstone, Michael served as the General Manager of the Bethesda Community Base Ball Club, a nonprofit that operates the Bethesda Big Train collegiate summer baseball team, and ran the team’s operations for two seasons.

Michael received his M.A. in government from Johns Hopkins University, with a focus on American governance. He earned his B.A. in political science from the University of Vermont. He grew up in Vermont and now lives in Washington, DC.
